Misadventures and Merry Misfortunes

It actually started raining in Sunny California! Looked at the weather forecast, and the next 2 days call for thunderstorms. Glad I took the pup for a walk earlier before the rain! (yeah, he's part lab, but I'm part wicked witch). There are two fellas working out back on the guest house (we now have 2 doors and partial trim... woohoo!) I think there is a toilet either in or in the process of going in.

Yeah, my boredom entry earlier was partly because one of the room mates was in a foul mood and taking it out on my dog, so I stayed in my room with him. But now, house to ourselves, and television. Yeah, I'm hooked now on that "take home chef" show. Cute aussie that can cook, it's funny watching these women cook dinner for their significant others and flirting heavily with the chef. I am mostly interested in it because I can't manage not to burn toast, and this guy is making food I have never heard of. The more I see of it, cooking doesn't look all that tough. I think it's just mostly paying attention and not living on a mac and cheese budget. But next week, our hours will be turning around and we should be swamped with work, which will be good for the moolah. Now, we just have to wait for them to put a kitchen in our little house.

My dog is being so good today (side note) and I am so proud of him! Sure, he still tests what he can get away with (found him attempting to chew on a tiki statue... you think I'd be able to go to the bathroom without him going ballistic) but that testing is at least minimizing. He's gotten in two good running wild sessions in the back yard, plus the walk. Hopefully he'll decide it's naptime soon. Right now he is lying on the tile kitchen where it is cool and staring at me. The staring is fine, except he chooses the worst times to do it most of the time... anyway.

Hmm. Can't think of much more to update. Know I have a few phone calls to make, but I'm such a procrastinator. That, and I despise the phone. BUT talking in person is rather out of the question from this distance. Ah well.

I need to get some paints and canvas. been dying to paint and I found the perfect subject. It isn't all that exciting compositionally, but it is an interesting color and texture mix. I just want to study it in sunlight, as it has been cloudy this morning, and figure out which lighting brings out the richer colors.
